Foundations and framing are the two phases of construction that most homeowners never see once the project is finished — but they determine everything that comes after. A poorly executed foundation cracks. A poorly framed structure settles, shifts, and creates problems that follow the building for decades. There is no cosmetic fix for structural work done wrong.

At North Heritage Construction, we have been doing this work since 2004. Our own crew handles excavation, concrete, and framing — and we coordinate closely with licensed specialists for mechanical trades. When we manage it, we own the result completely.

Site Excavation

Proper excavation sets the stage for everything that follows. We prepare the site, manage soil conditions, and excavate to the correct depth and dimensions — so the foundation that goes in has the right base beneath it from day one.

Concrete Foundations

Full basement foundations, slab-on-grade, and crawl space foundations built to code and engineered for New England's frost depth requirements. We form, pour, and finish — managing the concrete work directly so nothing gets lost in translation between contractors.

Structural Framing

Floor systems, wall framing, roof structures, and stair framing — built square, level, and plumb. Proper framing is what makes everything that comes after it — insulation, drywall, windows, finishes — go in clean and stay that way.

Addition Foundations and Framing

Home additions require tying new structural work into an existing building — which demands precision. We handle the full scope: new foundation footings, framing tied into the existing structure, and roof connections that are watertight and structurally sound.

All foundation and structural framing work requires a building permit in Massachusetts. Permits are pulled before work begins and inspections are required at key stages — foundation, framing, and final. North Heritage manages all permits and inspections as part of every project.

How do I know if my existing foundation needs work before an addition?

We assess the existing foundation as part of every addition consultation. Signs of concern include visible cracks, water infiltration, settling, or bowing walls. If the existing foundation needs reinforcement before we build on top of it, we will tell you directly — and handle the remediation as part of the project.
